In Their Own Words: Joan Strassner

VMRC nurses like serving in our community for many reasons. They enjoy the feeling of making a difference in the lives of others. They appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow in their careers. When VMRC nurses come to work, they get to live out their purpose.

Joan Strassner, LPN and care guide in the Woodland Park neighborhood, specifically chose VMRC as her work home. She first served as a PRN nurse, or pro re nata – Latin for as needed. Over time, Joan grew to need VMRC as much as VMRC needed her.
